Whale Season Is Here: The Humpbacks Are Back on the North Shore
The first humpback whales of the season have been spotted off Haleiwa — and that means the best seat on Oahu's North Shore is open again. From October through April, thousands of humpbacks migrate to Hawaii's warm waters to breed and raise their calves, and they pass right by our home port at Haleiwa Harbor.
What makes a Hawaii Whale Tale Tours trip different? Every charter is private — just your group of up to 6 aboard our 25 ft SAFE Boat with Capt. Matt. And we don't just watch the whales. Our professional-grade hydrophone goes in the water so you can listen to the whales sing live while you watch them breach, slap their tails, and cruise alongside the boat. It is the moment our guests talk about all year.
Along the way we often spot dolphins, Hawaiian sea turtles, and sharks if they choose to show themselves — and every so often a rare Hawaiian monk seal makes an appearance.
Not just whales: our private fishing charters run all winter too. Troll the North Shore for mahi, ono, aku, and shibi, chase bottom fish, or pair a half day of fishing with a sunset cruise on the way in.
Winter dates fill fast, especially weekends. Book your private whale watching tour at hawaiiwhaletaletours.com or call/text Capt. Matt at 808-429-9580. You can also find us on FishingBooker.
